This job was completed and the customer was very happy with the work, but was unhappy over $130 needed to pay for the rest of the materials. He left a negative review for my business on Yelp, and because Yelp does not allow businesses who do not have accounts with them, I was unable to leave an adequate response there. You can read my response to this review here:
I quoted Alex and Debbie $1200 Labor and told them that this quote does not include materials. I also clearly told them that they would be responsible for reimbursement for the materials used in their coach. They knew that they needed to pay for materials because I requested $200 to purchase part of the materials to start the job (to which they agreed to with a positive attitude).
That’s why I was disappointed and surprised that they had a loss of memory over the materials when I told them what their final bill was. They refused to receive their final paperwork, which includes an itemized breakdown of materials/labor and has all receipts attached. I still have it on record and they may request it at any time.
Perhaps, if they had accepted their final bill, it would have jogged their memory of our conversation and Alex would not have felt that he had been deceived and in-turn posted a positive review for a job well done.
Sincerely,
Mac McDonald
